Get Involved!

Every day there are opportunities to participate at The Bicycle Works. You can work on your own bike, show a friend how to fix their bike, teach a kid you know how to use tools and problem solve, fix up a bike for someone who needs one, tidy up the workshop space, greet people at the door and tell them about our mission and programming, pass out fliers for an upcoming event, plan an upcoming event, read a book from our library, seek out donations of tools and equipment that you know would be useful. You can even learn to be a mechanic or salesperson and make some money on commission. All you need is a willingness participate.  

Become a Member

Memberships are only $100 per year and will entitle you to guilt free use of the shop tools  to work on your bike, receive discounted service rates and discounts on new parts and accessories. Membership means that you are a member of the community

Please consider making a contribution to the general fund of The Bicycle Works or to support your favorite project of service.  Our costs currently include: rent, insurance, various bills, tools, supplies, research and development, contractor fees and payroll, inventory and .  All donations are tax deductible! The Bicycle Works is a project of MarinLink, a California 501 c(3) non-profit.

  Donation Wish List:
• Off site storage near the shop. Easliy accesible space for storing bikes and parts is crucial going forward.
  
• Bikes and bike gear!! (just not used bike shorts!)
• Tools and equipment: Any tools that you no longer use and want to make available to the community, especially bike tools: bike stands, grease gun, grinding equipment, polishing wheel, welding supplies, spoke cutting machine, oils, solvents, and greases (Earth-friendly stuff, please!)
  
• Bike hardware and components: Nuts, bolts, wheels, frames, components, etc.
  
• Building supplies: 2'x12" for shelving, any hooks, screws, and fasteners, plexi-glass sheets, high-volume exhaust fan...
  
• Business/Office supplies:  legal pads, pens, pencils, Sharpies, High-Lighters, large (23" or larger) widescreen flat-panel monitor, ...
  
• Cleaning supplies: Sponges, scouring brushes for cleaning bikes. Non-toxic detergents. Simple Green.
• Art supplies: Paint, pallets, brushes, paper ......
