Every Tuesday, starting January 5th, 2010; Shop Etiquette, Tool Use, and Basic Bike Repair. 5 - 7 pm at TBW.
Take a tour of the shop, see the changes, learn the location of all the things that make the space so very useful. Then, learn to properly use all those things; tools, equipment, etc, effectively while having the most fun and not breaking anything -- your bicycle included! Followed up with a basic repair and learning session taylored to the group. Free for Members, $10 suggested donation for all others. Thank you for learning about your bike!
Every Friday between 5 and 7pm; Bicycle Safety Check
Assess the safety and condition of your bicycle, lube the chain, etc.; get ready for that big weekend ride! Free!

Rough outline of what we will be covering:
(Participants can bring in a bike they want to convert!)
-----Samples of manufactured electric bikes, and some of the custom bikes with performance specs and samples. -----How to design a bike for a particular purpose. Including information about range, weight of batteries, speed, dependability. ----- Some information about life cycle of lithium batteries.
----- Locations for batteries with consideration for bike handling and easy removal.
-----Mid-drive systems: E-4 and Ecospeed.
-----Charging from grid and off-grid.
-----Design system for participants...
